EDINBURGH WEEKLY CLUB GUIDE - Week Ending 3/4/22

Edinburgh's Milkit crew return to the Mash House for the first time this calendar year with an ensemble of Edinburgh talent spinning all things electro, techno, garage, and breaks. Residents Mercer, Reyka and Pharmakeia are joined by SMIFF, Pelk, Jodie Mooney, Skwire and Zakds across the two rooms of Mash House.

Edinburgh's favourite recently departed son Skillis returns for an all night long special on the Messenger sound system. Accompanied by Stevie Messenger upstairs, you can expect a plethora of sounds throughout the Bongo this Friday spanning dubstep, jungle, UK techno, garage, ska, rocksteady, dub, & more.

Powerhouse Fridays are well and truly back underway up the stairs at Mash. More of the usual suspects are on hand with Violet Haze (Epika), Snitch Chibber, Euroshopper, and DJ Mechanoid. Rumbling through industrial techno, doomcore, old skool gabber, hardcore, and speedcore, the Powerhouse speed demons are set to stomp all night.

Miss World roll into April with a residents show featuring Epika's Naafi. After a storming start to the calendar year with guests like Jossy Mitsu, Moray Leisure Centre, and takeovers at Bongo and Glasgow's La Cheetah Club, the lovable trio are set to show off their goofier side this April Fool's Day with bouncing edits and some goldies alongside the usual club heavy sounds.

Now in its twentieth year, Jackhammer is back at the Caves with two special headliners in Berlin resident Black Lotus (Luminal/ Flash X) and Neil Landstrumm (Live show). D + B provides an extra pump to the Caves sound as Keyte & Wolfjazz open up proceedings.

DIY start-up Twister N' Techno is kicking up a fuss at the unusual surroundings of the Banshee Labyrinth. Tough 90's techno from residents Andrew Long and Dave Magowan with support from our own OISÍN and John Boy (VoA).

An event that has been on everyone's lips the past few weeks, Industrial Estate debuts at the Mash House with headliner and Edinburgh hard-hitter DV60. Providing exactly what it says on the tin, industrial techno and hard dance featuring an extended lineup that features Geo, Kater, AKKORD (Clean Up/ Tais Toi), and E.DN (Feedback). Our pick for the week on Cowgate.

A sound clash between two of the leading community radio stations in the central belt, Radio Buena Vida and EHFM sound clash with residents Joe Unknown, Lunarplatz, and Poly800 with Hiba. All funds generated on the night go towards the funding of the two stations, all the more incentive to check this out!

The next installment of Soulsville sees Ann Tweak (Mirror Dance) and the Jacuzzi General (Paradise Palms Records) journey through loved up soul, disco, and worldly rhythms for an enticing all night long back to back session.

Sneaky's Sundays brings forth another enticing guest this week with Jasper Tygner providing his formidable breaks and dub-laden, atmospheric grooves. Having graced labels like Shall Not Fade and received notable plaudits on Radio 1 and Reprezent Radio 1, his stock is swiftly rising.
